New Orleans Workshop Weekend!

Toronto Lindy Hop, in conjunction  with Swing Toronto, is proud to present a New Orleans themed weekend featuring live music by Meschiya Lake and the Lil Big Horns and a lindy hop workshop with world class instructors Andy Reid and Amy Johnson!

Travelling all the way from New Orleans, Meschiya and her band will be playing at The Dovercourt House on Saturday June 11th.  Also on that day we will be hosting a one day lindy hop workshop with Amy Johnson and Andy Reid, also from New Orleans.

Alleycatz is cancelled tonight

Please note that Alleycatz is cancelled tonight (May 17) due to a private party booking at the venue.  It will be back to its regular schedule starting next Tuesday, May 24th.

Lindystock is now sold out!

Wow.  That was fast.   2011 is now SOLD OUT!  We knew there would be a big demand for this great event but we didn’t think we’d sell out, at least not this quickly.  So a big thank-you to everyone who registered already.

If you would still like to go to Lindystock but didn’t get the chance to register we are very sorry.  Unfortunately the Wolf Den Lodge can only handle so many people.  We are looking into allocating a few more spaces so please let us know if you’d like to be put on our wait list by emailing us at info@torontolindyhop.com.  If and when we get some added spaces we will allow you to register based on the order we get requests to be put on the wait list.

Thanks for all your support!  We’re really looking forward to an amazing weekend this summer!

Frankie Manning Tribute 2011

The annual Tribute night is coming up on May 28th, 2011.   For those that are not familiar, is considered the father of lindy hop.  Frankie passed away two years ago and to commemorate his life and contribution to lindy hop around the world, the Toronto Lindy Hop community get together each year and host a fundraiser for the Frankie Manning Lindy Hop Legacy Fund.

Mark your calendars as this will be a wonderful night of celebrations as we pay tribute to one of the greatest dancers of all time!
