Combo Royale to play at The Imperial this Sunday!

This Sunday, Feb. 05 will be a super Sunday indeed!  The ever wonderful band Combo Royale will be playing from 9 pm to midnight.  This is the first time there’s been live music at the monthly Swing and Blues Sunday dance so it promises to be an amazing night!  There is no cover but the will be a hat passed around to help pay for the band.

Swing and Blues Sundays happens on the first Sunday of every month at The Imperial Pub and Library (1st floor in the back room).

Damon and Heidi Blues Workshop

Don’t forget that there’s a great blues dance workshop happening this weekend with instructors Damon Stone and Heidi Fite.  There are lots of classes, dancing and fun socializing planning so be sure to check it out!  From the Toronto Blues Dance website:

Damon & Heidi share a love for Blues dance and for promoting the dance as a living tradition, with a rich history and an exciting future. Their classes are inspiring and challenging, but their focus on the underlying principles and a clear explanation of the fundamentals allows them to break down the most difficult concepts and moves so they are easy to understand and incorporate. Damon & Heidi are able to communicate and instill in their students a love of dance and a dedication to the learning process. More important, their classes will kick your butt and put some serious bad-ass in your dancing.

Cabaret 2011 – Coming November 26th

After a brief break, Toronto Lindy Hop is excited to announce that the beloved evening of song, dance, skits and jokes is BACK and we are looking for YOU our dance community to contribute acts for the evening!

If you would like to Particpate

Sing, Dance, play an instrument, jump out of a cake, be a dog whisperer, put on a skit..etc. If you have something you would like to show Toronto, please email: Nyree: nyree.macpherson@gmail.com and let her know what you would like to do.

We will be holding audtions in Toronto (to figure out placement in the show, timing etc.): Oct 25th & Nov 2nd (location TBD), so please make sure you have emailed Nyree before those dates.

Note: Out of Town Groups: just send us a video with your routine/skit etc. before November 2nd.

Come to watch

AFTER the Cabaret there will be a dance on another floor of the , so make sure you bring your dancing shoes!

Cost: $20 (includes the dance afterwards)

TLH Theme Nights

We here at TLH are proud to announce that we will be hosting a “TLH Night” once a month at Saturday Night Swing.  On the last Saturday every month TLH will be doing a something a little special to make the already great dance night even better!

This month on August 27 we will be hosting a New Orleans theme night!  Making her debut at Saturday Night Swing Miz Debbie and her band will be playing, with DJ Jasper playing during the band breaks!  After the band is done Caitlin Wellman will take over DJ duties and play a late night with some good ole’ Louisiana soul and R&B.  As if that’s not enough we will also be serving NOLA food at midnight to keep us going late into the night!
