How to take a shower at Lindystock

A common question that comes up often is how to take a shower at Lindystock.  Fortunately, shower facilities are available.  Phil and Charlie clearly explain how they constructed the shower area and give some tips on how to take the most efficient shower possible.  Along the way they dispense some valuable and not so valuable wisdom.  Don’t worry.  Showering at Lindystock is easier than it looks.  Don’t forget to bring biodegradable soap and shampoo!

Testimonials

Don’t take our word on how awesome Lindystock is. Hear what other people have to say.

Five years of dancing and Lindystock is the best event I’d ever been to! It’s about dancing and camping and swimming and sunning and spelunking and skits and spending a little time actually getting to know all wonderful people we normally only see in three minute slices. It is simply an awesome weekend of dancing, and so much more!

-Matthew Wiebe

Lindystock is a must-do summer activity! Not only was the dancing fun, but the other activities: including swimming, singing around the campfires, evening townhalls, the meals, skinny-dipping, and invading each other’s personal space in the Swedish sauna made the event incredibly memorable. Many of my lindy friendships were strengthened during this weekend and new friendships created--great friendships. My only advice everyone must adhere to if attending Lindystock-- hold the rope ABOVE the knot if you take a swing off of the rope swing! Lindystock was the highlight of my summer…actually it was the highlight of 2008.!

Lindystock is about Lindy Hop. Actually, it’s more about wandering around in rubber boots, dirty, sweaty and mostly mosquito bitten. But don’t worry. There’s dancing too.”

“Lindystock was the most fun I had all summer! I’d encourage anyone who loves to dance, swim, sauna, cook, play frisbee, have campfires, and have a great time to join us this year. Get to know your fellow Lindy Hoppers in a whole new way at Lindystock. It truly is a weekend of awesome.”

I danced, I swam in the swimming hole, I lay out under the starry sky, I danced, I was in a radio play with my now infamous pseudo-Southern accent, I went crawling in caves--something I’d never done before, I went through an exceedingly narrow crevasse, I started to hyperventilate, but I did it twice!--I went in a sauna, I danced, I ate well, I played boardgames and read and laughed and got absolutely no sleep from the cold and sang along at a campfire…Then a curious thing happened; I developed an exceedingly bizarre sensation, namely, a sense of benevolence towards my fellow persons…

It took me a while to figure it out, but then I realised what was going on. I was relaxed. Really and truly relaxed. Not just slightly-less-tense or too-tired-to-care but honest-to-jebus relaxed. It was a curious experience. I can’t wait for next year.”
