Education Committee Member
Current Education Committee events are:
Practice Sessions (once per month)
Lindyworks (September)
Homegrown (November/Fall)
Others – as needed
Tasks may include:
– contributing to big picture discussions and planning
– scheduling and budgeting for events
– venue research and liaising
– overseeing event sign-in and registration
– maintaining general workshop email correspondence
– liaising with instructors and community members
– liaising with different TLH Board members and committees
– hosting dances, and workshops
– assisting with door shifts
Commitments
– attend monthly meeting (which occur more often in the late summer and fall, during Lindyworks and Homegrown season)
– be present, and available for the entire duration of any given event/workshop weekend
Traits
– passionate about enriching the Toronto Lindy Hop scene
– interested in and knowledgeable about the Toronto Lindy Hop scene and its dynamics
– organized, reliable, hard working, flexible, able to see a task through to the end, able to work on a team, responsible, ability to work independently without supervision
– experience running events would be an asset, but training will be provided
